Dilan was born in Izmir and raised in Adana, Turkey. As a child she communicated everything through her paintings. With her mother studying art at University of Cukurova, Dilan was introduced to academical world of her passion at an early age. Shortly after her favourite book became "The Story of Art" by E. H. Gombrich.

After graduating from university with a degree in French Literature, spending a year in France, taking courses from University of the Arts London, in 2015, she decided to become a full-time artist. Currently she lives in a small village in Norway with her husband and three cats.
